- Increase prevalence and duration of breastfeeding.

- Find a weight loss plan that fits your individual lifestyle and that includes behavioral counseling.
- Set personal goals.
- Take part in university-led, doctor-guided, and/or worksite weight loss programs.
- As a general rule, do not expect more than 1-2 pounds of weight loss per week.
- Continue to follow nutrition and physical activity guidelines as determined by the
2005 United States
Dietary Guidelines with appropriate decreases in caloric intake
and increases in physical activity as determined by a health care professional.
